Baptism

Baptism is a picture of what Jesus did for us. At Southwest Christian Church we baptize by immersion following a personal profession that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the Living God, declaring God as ones Savior and Lord. Baptism symbolizes His death, burial, and resurrection. He has commanded those who follow him to be baptized.

  • “…those who believed and accepted his message were baptized…” -Acts 2:41
  •  “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.” -Romans 6:4-5
  • “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” -Matthew 28:19-20
